It was established in 1956 and it starts by designing and implementing machine prototypes for the manufacturing of leathers and the production of springs, for the execution of opposite slots simultaneously, to cut marble, to polish wood and others. The production of single items manufactured on customer’s demands is afterwards joined by the mass-production of dividing heads, vices and cutting-off machines. In 1960, they introduce in their production Grinding machines, too, and after few years, due to the market’s growing demands for this product, the company exclusively dedicates its activity to the manufacturing of Surface Grinding machines. In 1970, they expand their market abroad and commercial relations with other nations become constant along the years. Since the beginning, the company has always researched new technical solutions to improve product performances. In 1982, they design and manufacture at their workshop the Grinding machine with swivel table that, in April, is on show at Milan Exhibition. Ente Fiera includes this type of Grinding Machine among “Highlighted Novelties”, publishing it on the “Milan Exhibition” magazine. The first model is successively modified to meet new technical requirements. They have always privileged quality, to satisfy customers’ requirements. In 1995, the company is awarded with the “Gold Medal” by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Craft Trade and Agriculture in Milan. This prize is conferred to enterprises as acknowledgement of the “Long-term Activity, of the Strong Work Ethicality and of the Enterprise Activity". Since 1989, the competition has been called “Productive Milan Award ", event deemed as one of the most relevant by the Milanese economic and entrepreneurial system. Along the years, with the production of Surface Grinding Machines, they satisfy the demands by several industrial sectors: precision mechanics, automotive, robotics, aeronautics, textile, food, railway, shipbuilding, oil, goldsmith industry and others. O.M.N. surface grinding machines are also used by research laboratories on steel and concrete materials, by technical institutes and professional schools. Currently, the production of Grinding Machines includes six models: three models of Grinding Machines with fixed table, one model of Grinding Machine with Swivel Table, one model of Grinding Machine with rotary table and one model of Grinding Machine with automated rotary table. Still today, grinding machines are fully in-house manufactured by O.M.N. workshop.
